Mission Statement
The mission of the Center for Health Ethics and Law of the Robert C. Byrd Health Sciences Center of West Virginia University is to educate health care professionals, students, patients, and the public in West Virginia about ethical and legal issues in health care; to serve as a resource for them when they are confronted with difficult medical decisions by clarifying the facts and values relevant to making these decisions; and to conduct research in health ethics and law. The ultimate goal of these three endeavors is to improve the quality of patient care in West Virginia.
